The Tamaskan Dog Diversity Project (TDDP) is a breed specific project that is working in cooperation with Embark orther organizations, clubs, and breed diversity projects to develop a plan, database, and sharable information based off testing as many Tamaskan Dogs as possible.

The intent is to use the results to develop a sound, science-based, database and breeding tool that can be used to better develop and ensure healthy and consistent, fact-based development of the breed. We feel that by creating a clear and unbiased picture of the breed, their genetic traits and a whole and of individual dogs we can make significant advances in the breed's development.

We wanted our page to go live as soon as possible so you could follow in this project from its official inception and have the ability to contact us at any point. The first aspect of this page to go live will be the testing section. This will allow all participants to make orders, update kit, and submit results securely, safely and keep their results anonymous to the public if they choose. We felt this was essential and we can't wait to add more information, features, and updates. This page is the next addition.

The Tamaskan Dog breed is still young and growing, and it would be shortsighted and detrimental to this project to align itself with a single registry or international club. However, a breed does have specific traits, characteristics, and structure that it consists of. Because of the nature of this project a set of standards needed to be set. These different registries and clubs work together on a number of levels and are each striving to better the breed and support breeders and dogs that will develop in line with the breed standards over time.

While this list may change and a club or registry may apply for addition by contacting us as info@tasmaskandogdiversityproject.com, we do now know what the future holds. The purpose of this project requires standardization and genetic stability to work. While there is nothing wrong with mixed breeds or branching off of the breeds structure it would affect the accuracy of our results so for those reasons and those alone we will adhere to the registries and clubs listed in our forms and will confirm registration with those organizations for a dog to be included in and order and ultimately the project.

The currently accepted registries are as follows: Tamaskan Dog Register, Tamaskan Germany, Nederlandse Tamaskan Club, Interessengemeinschaft Tamaskan, International Tamaskan Register, UK TDR

The cost of the kits is $133.25 USD each for US orders, which includes shipping and processing. International kits cost $145.75 USD, which includes shipping to a single location. (Cost is $135.25 USD for any additional kit to the same address for international orders).

You can place an order for a kit here and if you have any questions you can contact us. If you have already have a kit that you purchased separately and wish to participate, you can still submit your results via our new streamlined submission process.

If you tested your dog independently (not through the TDDP), have received your results, and want to participate in the TDDP's mission, you can submit them through our new streamlined submission process. If, at any point, you have questions, you can always contact us.

We are excited to offer exclusive litter kit pricing to our breeders! The only restriction is there must be a minimum of 4 puppies being tested and they must be from the same litter - age does not matter.

Pricing for litter kits (per kit, minimum 4 kits):
International (First Kit): $115.00 USD
International (Additional Kit): $104.50 USD
US (4+ kits): $103.00 USD each

Our breeder ordering form allows for 5-10 dogs (and can always be modified for a larger litter if needed). You do not need to wait until you receive registration papers or numbers.

While some other DNA analysis companies alter their product based off of the purchaser's location due to patent and copyrights, Embark has gone through the necessary steps to be able to offer all of their services to anyone who uses their services.

Because the TDDP is an independent organization based in the United States, we are not only allowed to purchase Embark kits on the behalf of others, but we can also offer our services, research, and data internationally as well.

While we do everything to ensure that this will not happen, customs does randomly select mail to inspect. It is entirely possible that they may choose your Embark/TDDP package.

That said, we do have tracking information on all of our mail that is sent from the United States to an international location and we will be able to notify you if the package is held at customs and assist with it's release, etc. as needed. We now have some options where kits will be shipped from Europe locally to our international participants - those orders may or may not have tracking, but are also not subject to the same customs inspections.

You will need to complete whatever your local or preferred method of shipment requires in regards to customs paperwork. Everyone's will be different as some with have the forms built in while others will have you complete separtate forms.

We also encourage your to complete and attach the following Embark customs form in order to expedite your package's return to Embark through customs in the United States.
